Over the last few months, I have been talking to advocates across India. Understanding the workflows, pain points and where they are using AI.

The first thing we’re tackling: the High Court of Karnataka daily cause list, delivered on WhatsApp.

For those who don’t know what a daily cause list is:

– It’s a public document published by The Karnataka High Court every evening.
– It lists the cases that will be heard the next day.

Here’s what actually happens each night. Usually an intern or a junior:
  • Opens the HC portal, checks the daily cause list very late into the night.
  • Scroll through a ~600 page PDF.
  • Search cases matching their clients.
  • Maps, consolidates & verifies (because mistakes happen)
  • Sends it to the senior, even if it’s 11PM.

And this is a daily chore, every working day.
And Now, Picture this..

Your WhatsApp has a brief waiting:

Your matters. Pulled from the Karnataka HC list.
  1. Case Number.
  2. Court Hall Number.
  3. Cause List Number.
  4. Serial Number.

That’s it.

No portal.
No Captcha.
No 600 pages.
No 11 PM message to your senior.
